The CAP team are here to help and support all our partners, students and the wider community. We have a range of backgrounds in higher and further education, arts and culture, the public and private sector, sport and administration.

Tim Gregory, Director of Academic Partnerships

With a background in engineering, teaching, and leadership and management in further and higher education, Tim has significant experience of quality assurance and of working in partnership with higher education institutions to deliver higher education in further education. Prior to working in the Centre for Academic Partnerships (CAP), Tim was the Head of Quality at the University of Bedfordshire from 2010 to 2016. Since 2016 Tim has been the Director of Academic Partnership for CAP.

Tim is responsible for the leadership and management of the development and operations of academic partnerships within the Centre for Academic Partnerships. Tim provides direct management of the team undertaking the business development and academic partnerships management of both UK and international academic partnerships, in line with internal and external requirements.

He works to monitor and develop the student experience at partners, and provides oversight of quality assurance and enhancement in CAP, in line with University expectations.

Dr Susan Lin, Partnership Development Manager

If you are thinking about becoming one of our valued partners our Partnership Development Manager will carry out due diligence and risk assessment at the beginning of the partnership approval process. Susan has worked for the University of Bedfordshire in this role since 2019. Susan works closely with CAP senior management.

The University remains committed to exploring new partnership opportunities the most commonly requested partnership models currently are franchise or validated.

Franchised Programmes: this refers to existing University of Bedfordshire programmes which have been approved for delivery on campus, and which may also be approved ‘franchised’ for delivery at an external partner location.

Validated Programmes: these are new programmes devised and developed by a partner that align closely with existing University of Bedfordshire faculty area's of expertise. This courses are then approved 'validated’ by the University for delivery by that partner as a University of Bedfordshire award.

Richard Miller, Partnerships Business Manager

Richard has worked for the University since 2012, originally as part of the Finance team in a Central Management Accountant role. Since 2016 Richard has worked within the Centre for Academic Partnerships team, he manages the contracts and compliance for both International and UK partners. This post involves the operational management of partnership contracts, oversight of student numbers and fee reconciliations.

Nazli Rad, Partnerships Finance Officer

Nazli has worked for the University since 2019 and is an Assistant Management Accountant. Nazli is based in the University Finance Team but she works closely with the Centre for Academic Partnerships team in her role as Partnerships Finance Officer. Nazli works closely with our partners and is responsible for partnership invoicing and financial reconciliations.

Academic Partnership Managers and Coordinators are the link between the Centre for Academic Partnerships (CAP) and the University's partners. They are responsible for developing and sustaining the relationship between the partner and the various functions that support the partnership both centrally and in the academic faculties. As such, CAP's Academic Partnerships team is pivotal to the success of both the business development of the University's partnerships and the running of their day-to-day operations. The Account Management team work closely with Faculty appointed Academic Link Coordinators to support the smooth running of the partnership.

The Academic Partnerships team come from a wide variety of backgrounds including an alternative higher education provider, further education, and private business, but they all share one thing in common - a passion for ensuring their partners' students receive the best possible experience.

Academic Partnerships Team

UoB staff can access the Q&S Information SharePoint site which contains details of both the UoB Academic Link Coordinator and which member of the CAP Academic Partnerships team are assigned to each partner/provision. Q&S publish this information on a monthly basis.

Academic partnerships course administration will be provided by the central Student Registry Services division within the Registry and University Secretariat.
